Have Your Say about Bishop’s Park’s Big Secret!

A group of children and adults gather outside under trees, seen through a brick archway. One adult appears to be addressing the group. The ground is wet, and the scene looks like a nature outing or outdoor activity. Because your opinion about the future of Bishop’s Park’s Walled Garden is important to us.

Many years ago, the half-acre walled garden on the West side of the park was a place of great importance to the Bishop’s Palace.  Dating back to at least 1790, and once the heart of the estate, the garden produced vegetables and fruit, including pineapples for the Bishop’s table.

Today, exciting plans are underway to restore the walled garden to its former glory.  After receiving substantial funds from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, we hope to open the walled garden to the public in the future.

It is important for us to listen to the views of our visitors and local community to determine what will happen to the walled garden and to ensure that everyone feels welcome and able to take part.

We’d be glad to hear what you think.
