Great Meadow

Soon to be open to all, this flood plain meadow formed the parkland setting of the Bishop’s Palace and is now being managed to encourage and protect rare plants and insects. Both our buildings and parkland are home to many different species – and through our work we are monitoring what we have and how they make the site their home, noting any changes over the seasons, and maximising opportunities for them to flourish. From otters, bats, slowworms, eels, swans and kingfishers – it’s fascinating to find out who lives in the Park!
