Parc yr Esgob, the Bishop’s Park in Abergwili, is hosting an autumn Gardeners’ Question Time, with a special wildlife focus, on October 7th, 6pm, in Stacey’s Kitchen, Parc yr Esgob.
The audience will be able to pose their questions about how to garden brilliantly in a way that encourages pollinators, creates a mosaic of habitats and is kind to other wildlife. Although Head Gardener Blue Barnes-Thomas and his team of volunteers manage over 17 acres of parkland, gardens, meadow, woodland and a pond, he hopes that those with urban gardens, smallholdings or small window boxes will also enjoy the evening and share their experiences with flowers, food and wildlife.
Blue explained “Most of our supporters and visitors know us for the built heritage of the Bishop’s Palace, for the gorgeous gardens and the fabulous cakes in Stacey’s Kitchen…. So we wanted to shine a light on the park’s natural heritage and how we work to support it, and how wildlife supports what we do too.”
“We’re busy gathering a panel of wildlife and gardening experts and enthusiasts who can offer a range of perspectives – see more on social media.”
Tickets are £5 from Teresawalters@parcyresgob.org.uk. Stacey’s Kitchen will be open for sandwiches, pastries, teas, cakes etc.
