Volunteering Opportunities

Current Volunteering Opportunities at Parc Yr Esgob-Bishop’s Park

We have a range of various volunteering opportunities here at Parc Yr Esgob-Bishop’s Park:

Horticulture & Park Maintenance

Our head gardener, Blue Barnes Thomas oversees a team of volunteers who look after the gardens and parkland. This can involve anything & everything from planting & weeding to cutting cherry laurel. Volunteering days are currently Tuesday & Wednesday  9.30am – 3pm

Reception

We are looking for volunteers to help in our reception area. Duties include welcoming visitors, giving information (which will be provided), taking messages, keeping the visitor centre clean & tidy.

Café

Café volunteer duties will be decided by Stacey & Lisa, who are running the café.

Events

We always need volunteers to help with all sorts of events held at the Park. Everything from parking, to meet & greet, to putting up the marquee & collecting feedback. During children’s/family events, just an extra pair of hands can make all the difference.

Historical Research

We rely on a band of volunteers who have an interest in the history of the site and of the local area to research and collect various snippets of information which is used on our website and for events.

Wildlife Watch

We hold a monthly wildlife watch walk around the park to record the flora & fauna and monitor any changes. These walks are also open to the general public. We currently publish a summary of each walk on our website, but as we now have easy access to the meadow, we will also include the biodiversity of the floodplain meadow and we will be doing more detailed recording & data collection of this area.
