Unpeelling our History !

A weathered, engraved metal tag attached to an old, mossy brick wall. The tag is tarnished and rusted at the top, with faintly readable cursive writing on its surface.

 

A recent discovery found still attached to the east wall. A label for ‘Marie Louise d’Uccle which after much research and help from the Royal Horticultural Society is a dessert pear originating near Brussels around 1846. I think we have answered the question what will be our first new plant in the walled garden.
